This idea came about in mid-2006 after many emails to Gilles Roux. I gave him my ideas and things I liked in a solving system at the time (horrible things like "layer minus a corner" or orienting all edges first), he gave me his suggestions, I then combined our different ideas and this is the result. It originally started out as "Solve DFL, DL, DBL, DB, and DBR" because that is what Gilles Roux suggested and I had seen this shape described on the Yahoo! group as "Boomerang". I found that after that step there were too many edges to manage so I added the second layer to the shape and decided on the steps that would go after it.
Johannes Laire gets some credit too for helping me find sequences for steps that aren't in this method now.
P.S. I think it's better to go with Fridrich or "Roux" because one has less memorization and they both have proven themselves. The method currently, to me, seems to be about 1 second slower than Fridrich and Roux and I see it as the same speed as Petrus (because of the edge orientation step in both).
